The Experience

A Winery That Feels Like Home

Westcott takes its wine seriously. The experience is deliberately something else. The barn is warm, the patio looks out over the vineyard, and the people pouring the wines are the same people who farmed the grapes. There are no scripts here, just genuine enthusiasm for what's in the glass.

Every wine you'll taste was grown on one of two estate sites on the Niagara Escarpment: the Home Farm on the Vinemount Ridge, continuously farmed since 1834, and Butlers' Grant on the Twenty Mile Bench, one of the most storied vineyard sites in Canadian wine history. Winemaker Casey Kulczyk works with minimal intervention, letting the terroir of each site come through in every bottle.

"There's no better way to experience Westcott."

Reservations recommended · Walk-ins welcome based on availability

Two vineyard estates, each with their own terroir, come together in a single guided tasting that walks you through what makes Westcott different. You'll taste through the current lineup, learn about how Grant and Carolyn built the estate from scratch, and hear about Casey's approach to winemaking: low-intervention, site-driven, and focused entirely on what the fruit wants to be.

The tasting takes place inside the timber frame barn or out on the deck, depending on the season. Either way, you're surrounded by the vineyard. It's a good place to slow down for an hour.

What to Expect

A Visit Worth Taking Your Time Over

01
The Wines

A guided flight through the current Westcott lineup, spanning both vineyard sites. Expect estate Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and whatever else Casey has open. The focus is on understanding what you're tasting and where it comes from, not ticking boxes.

02
The Setting

A restored 200-year-old timber frame barn with views of the Home Farm vineyard. In warmer months the deck is open, and there are few better places in Niagara to sit with a glass of Chardonnay and watch the vines. In winter the barn is warm and unhurried.

03
The People

The people serving you know these wines because they've lived with them. Expect real answers to your questions, genuine opinions, and no pretension. If you want to know more about the vineyard or the winemaking, just ask.
