Westcott Reserve Chardonnay 2017

Jamie Goode

Fresh and precise with some toast and peach notes, as well as some citrus brightness. This has nice precision and freshness, as well as some mealy richness. 92/100

Westcott Reserve Chardonnay 2016

This is a bright and complex Chardonnay that’s drinking nicely now. The richness from barrel fermentation and aging adds intriguing layers to the core of ripe tree fruit. Terrific length. Highly recommended.

 Westcott Pinot Noir Rosé 2018

Michael Pinkus

A 100% lightly coloured Pinot Noir rosé that’s dry with floral, cherry-raspberry and lime – it even shows some stone fruit and grapefruit on the finish. Westcott’s new winemaker nails this one

Natalie McLean

A gorgeous Niagara rose made from Pinot Noir grapes by Westcott's new winemaker Casey Kulczyk. Lovely aromas of small field strawberries. Racy acidity for seafood, shellfish and roast chicken.

Westcott Pinot Noir Estate 2015 - SOLD OUT
Natalie McLean's Score: 91/100

A lovely Niagara Pinot Noir with spicy berry notes. The wine underwent a 30% wild ferment yeast with whole cluster grapes then malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. Pair with veal.
Pinot Noir food pairings: roast leg of lamb, sautéed pork chops with wild mushrooms, butternut squash and onion risotto.

Westcott Estate Chardonnay 2016 - SOLD OUT

Natalie's Score: 91/100

Terrific balance in this lovely, full-bodied Chardonnay that offers seductive aromas of toasted bread, green apple and smoke. Very Burgundian in its balance and elegance. This wine was aged in French oak barrels for 11 months, of which one-third was new. Pair with roasted chicken.

Winery Profile: David Lawrason
"The first thing that struck me upon arriving at the Westcott Vineyards in Niagara, was that the vineyards are on a south facing slope. In that instant, this improbable project made sense.
Up on the Vinemount Ridge appellation south of Jordan and atop the Niagara Escarpment, vines miss the moderating effects of Lake Ontario, but south-facing slopes with longer and stronger sun exposure enables the ripening of earlier varieties like pinot noir and chardonnay."  Read more

Temperance Red Blend, Savvy Company
"Bravo to these young retired folks, who bought a 200 year-old timber frame barn, restored it to build a winery around the original structure.  And on top of all that, they planted 26 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Talk about a leap of faith. This relatively new winery located in Jordan, Ontario, is right in the heart of the Twenty Valley region, where the soil is the creme de la creme for growing grapes." "It’s one o’clock, and the sky is grey. In fact, everything feels grey until I’m greeted by Grant Westcott and two yellow labs at the door of Westcott Vineyards.
Inside, a fire crackles in an open hearth, releasing an inviting smell and warmth." Read more

"Located in a resituated 200-year-old Mennonite barn, the winery's tasting room is cozy, with long wooden tables, a large stone fireplace and French windows that open up to vistas of vineyards.
Sit in one of the Muskoka chairs and try their Delphine Rosé..." Read more

"We were first drawn to the absolutely stunning branding (the logo is meant to mimic the Westcott’s antique wooden boat ) of this small, boutique winery. After sipping on their reserve estate Chardonnay though, we know they’ve got to the product to back it up." Read more
