Wild ferment, whole cluster & unfiltered - this is sure to be a Westcott classic.
Under of 3 grams of residual sugar, this Pinot has aromas of red fruit and baking spice. Fresh cherry on the palate with dark berry, vanilla and caramel accents on the finish. Medium bodied with pleasant tannins and a long finish. 23 months in French oak. Cellar until 2021 or enjoy now.
The 2016 growing season had a staggering 36 days with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees. The season was also noteworthy for its dry conditions with only 325 mm of rainfall versus a normal average of 525 mm. Some locations in Niagara West (including our home farm vineyards) received brief respites with near normal rainfall in the latter parts of July & August.
